Forty-six years in the Indian power sector. Former Member (Technical) of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission and former Director (Projects) at MSEDCL. Felicitated by the Institution of Engineers (India) as an “Eminent Engineer” in November 2016 for outstanding contribution to the power sector.
Career
- 1976–2009 — MSEB / MSEDCL, rising from Assistant Engineer to Director, MSEDCL.
- 2009–2014 — Member (Technical), MERC Mumbai; Advisor to MERC from August 2014 to March 2015.
Policy & committee work
- October 2016 — Involved in drafting the “Model Smart Grid Regulations”, and the Forum of Regulators study report on the “Impact of EVs on the Distribution Grid” (October 2017).
- December 2018 — Nominated to the two-member Fact Finding Committee on the “Reasons for sudden increase in Electricity Bills in Mumbai”; report submitted to MERC on 30 June 2019.
- June 2021 — Member of the Technical Committee formed by MAHAPREIT, Mumbai, for the development of 1050 MW of solar parks in Maharashtra.
International
- Deputations to Siemens Germany; Southern Electric, Atlanta; Colorado utilities; LBNL, USA; KEPCO, South Korea; and CIGRE Paris (2012–14).
- Smart Grid USA Study Tour, January 2014.
- Invited speaker at conferences in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
